VFR Oncology Solutions places registered radiation therapists in locum assignments at Arizona cancer centers, hospital networks and private oncology groups. We're based in Casa Grande and cover Phoenix, Tucson and the rest of the state.
VFR is run by Vincent Rascon, R.T.(R)(T)(ARRT), who works as a locum radiation therapist himself. When you talk to us, you're talking to someone who has done the job, not a recruiter reading from a script.
What assignments look like
- Short-term coverage for leaves, vacations and sudden vacancies.
- Extended assignments when a clinic needs steady help while it hires, or ongoing locum support.
- Matched to your platforms. We ask which linear accelerators, imaging and planning systems you've worked on, and only suggest assignments that fit.
- Matched to your schedule. Tell us your availability and how far you're willing to travel.
What you need
Before your first shift in Arizona, you'll need:
- ARRT certification in radiation therapy, R.T.(T)
- An Arizona radiation therapy technologist certificate from the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS). Not certified in Arizona yet? See our Arizona certification guide.
- Current BLS
- TB screening and immunization records
- A background check, drug screen and OIG/SAM exclusion screening, which we arrange during onboarding
How it works
- Apply. Share your credentials, platforms, availability and resume. No Social Security numbers or patient information.
- Profile review. A practicing radiation therapist reviews your experience.
- Conversation. We confirm your platforms, schedule and preferences.
- Matching. When an assignment fits, we send you the details first. Your profile goes to a facility only with your OK.
Common questions
Do I need an Arizona certificate before I apply?
No. You can apply now. You do need an active Arizona radiation therapy technologist certificate from ADHS before you start working in Arizona, and we can tell you what that process involves.
Do you work with therapists from outside Arizona?
Yes. Many locum therapists live out of state. If you're already certified elsewhere, Arizona's universal license recognition law may help. See our certification guide for details.
Will you send my resume to clinics without asking?
No. We send you the assignment details first, and your profile goes to a facility only after you agree.
Where are assignments located?
VFR focuses on Arizona, including Phoenix, Tucson, Casa Grande and the surrounding areas. Out-of-state coverage is available on request.
